{"id":1127,"date":"2015-07-28T21:09:36","date_gmt":"2015-07-29T02:09:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jenniferpickens.com\/blog\/?p=1127"},"modified":"2018-04-16T13:00:36","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T18:00:36","slug":"white-house-historical-association-honors-jackie-kennedy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jenniferpickens.com\/blog\/white-house-historical-association-honors-jackie-kennedy\/","title":{"rendered":"White House Historical Association Honors Jackie Kennedy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1132\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jenniferpickens.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/EPSON001.jpg\" alt=\"EPSON001\" width=\"537\" height=\"713\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jenniferpickens.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/EPSON001.jpg 537w, https:\/\/www.jenniferpickens.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/EPSON001-226x300.jpg 226w, https:\/\/www.jenniferpickens.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/EPSON001-452x600.jpg 452w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 537px) 100vw, 537px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b class=\"\">The White House Historical Association Honors Mrs. Kennedy<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">A luncheon honoring the birthday of Jacqueline Kennedy\u2019s was given by The White House Historical Association Tuesday. \u00a0This young first lady who entered the White House quickly realized that the home was in trouble so she quickly began her plans to restore the White House. \u00a0As the luncheon program so greatly described \u201cShe wanted the Executive Mansion to function as a \u201cliving museum\u201d that reflects the history of the American presidency both past and present. \u00a0To accomplish this goal, Mrs. Kennedy initiated a three-part program to restore the historic integrity of the public room, acquire a collection of decorative and fine arts, and establish the White House Historical Association as a private, independent, nonprofit partner to the White House\u201d.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">The lovely luncheon was one that Mrs. Kennedy would be proud of: the guests were first invited to tour the fabulous new exhibit the Association has created- The Kennedy Rose Garden Traditionally American (going on until September 12- more photos etc. to be seen next week). \u00a0Guests then mixed and mingled with tea, lemonade and wine before being ushered into a room where they were\u00a0seated at tables with names like The Family Dinning Room or Red Room instead of a number. \u00a0The menu consisted of items that Mrs. Kennedy served herself at the White House from various events, luncheons and dinners. \u00a0The food was served on a beautifully feminine plate and center pieces were white roses all echoing the days of the Kennedy Administration. \u00a0Following the beautiful and delicious meal an amazing panel of women began their discussion. \u00a0Heather Champion, chief Executive Officer of the John F.
