Many people don\u2019t know just inside the East Wing is a movie theater in the White House. \u00a0A room that at times also acts as a coat closet during large events is a refuge for the first family at times – and also\u00a0another venue\u00a0the President and First Lady to entertain guests. \u00a0Guests including members of congress (even often times of the opposing parties), friends, staff and more have enjoyed current movies, sports games and TV shows. \u00a0One staffer shared with me how much it meant to her that President and Mrs. Bush invited her over on a weekend to see a movie with them and others. \u00a0And the best part she said was that they served pizza on White House china!<\/p>\n

Recently actor Bill Murray was invited to the White House along with other cast members of the hit ‘The Monuments Men\u2019 for\u00a0a movie screening in the Family Theater of the White House. \u00a0According to White House photographer Pete Souza “<\/span>Prior to the screening, the President was to greet some of the cast members in the Diplomatic Reception Room. A White House staff person had told Murray where to stand, meaning before the greet. But when the President walked into the room, Murray stayed put, saying ‘they told me to stand here.'”<\/span><\/p>\n
