White House Wednesdays

Its time to start thinking about Easter and of course the White House Easter Egg Roll !

On Monday, April 21, 2014, the First Family will host the 136th annual White House Easter Egg Roll. This year’s theme is “Hop into Healthy, Swing into Shape.”  More than 30,000 people will assemble on the South Lawn with the First Family to join in the fun.  The event will feature live music, sports courts, cooking stations, storytelling and, of course, Easter egg rolling. In addition to all of the fun, the day’s activities will encourage children to lead healthy, active lives in support of the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative.

The 2014 White House Easter Egg Roll souvenir eggs will come in four colors.  The bold colored eggs in green, blue, orange and pink will of course include the stamped signatures of the President and First Lady.  A commemorative purple ‘Bo and Sunny’ egg is included only in the 2014 5-pack Collector’s Egg Set, similar to the past two years.

Individual eggs are being sold for $8.99 and the Collector’s Egg Set is $31.99.  Orders can be placed at http://easter.nationalparks.org/

National Park Foundation (NPF), the official charity of America’s national parks, produces and sells the White House Easter egg.  An egg is given as a souvenir to all children 13 years and younger who attend the White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn of the White House.   (see more at http://www.whitehouse.gov/eastereggroll)
