Jennifer Boswell Pickens is a White House traditions and East Wing expert, historian, speaker, and author. She has personally interviewed members of America’s First Families, White House social secretaries, chiefs of staff, presidential aides, and Executive Residence staff.
Her top-selling first book, Christmas at the White House, was the first to accurately document the public and private Christmas décor, celebrations, themes, traditions, and memories of First Families spanning half of a century inside the world’s most famous address: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Former First Lady Laura W. Bush penned the Foreword. Pets at the White House: 50 years of Presidents and their Pets is her second book, which includes intimate contributions from living former First Families. Former First Lady Barbara Bush penned the Foreword. In 2018, Jennifer will debut two new exciting books on The White House that are sure to be new top-selling genre favorites.
An accomplished historian, Pickens has offered her insights on a host of local and
national television programs. She has served on the Texas Historical Records Advisory Board, Friends of the SMU Library, and on other prominent civic boards. Most recently, she was the historical and protocol consultant for the Presidential Inaugural Committee for the 45th President, Donald J. Trump. She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and lives in Dallas with her husband, and their four daughters.
